Call for STL Sustainability & Climate Plan Advisory Group

The City of St. Louis is forming a Community Advisory Group for the Sustainability & Climate Plan, and we want you to apply to be part of it! Below is some important information about the Community Advisory Group. The Sustainability & Climate Plan will provide a strategic framework and vision for sustainability in St. Louis City, balancing the environmental, economic, and social needs of the city today and in the future. This plan will establish key strategies to address and adapt to the changing climate and restore the natural environment while addressing equally pressing economic and social needs of residents. This process will include working closely with the community and interested parties to ensure that this Plan is grounded in community-lived experience and will build resilience across sectors and scales. What is the goal of the Sustainability & Climate Plan Community Advisory Group? The City of St. Louis is dedicated to creating a planning process that is welcoming, equitable, and focused on the needs of all community members. We hope to uplift the voices of underserved communities, youth, people of color, and all who call St. Louis City home as we plan for the future together. Your lived experiences and ideas will help us build on our strengths while serving people of all ages, cultures, and walks of life. I’m not an expert in sustainability or climate planning. Can I still serve on the Advisory Group? Yes, you can! The Advisory Group is not for technical experts; it’s for people who love St. Louis and care about its future. No other expertise is needed. In fact, it’s really important to this process that we have an Advisory Group with diverse experiences and perspectives, and we are looking for members who can represent the rich diversity of the St. Louis community, not people with any sort of technical background. (We will have technical experts involved in other parts of the process.)
